Intimate and Free Spirited Encinitas Elopement

Steph and Matty both work at Trader Joe’s. That’s how they met. They worked at different stores but spied each other at a work party. Their romance was a whirlwind. They both knew they were the one for one another. If I could describe them as a couple in three words, I would say they’re sweet, goofy, and free-spirited. (Does that third one count as one word?? I’m saying it does!) Everything about their wedding and leading up to their wedding perfectly reflected them as a couple. Their wedding day started out at the church they go to, Light Church in Encinitas, CA. The girls got ready in the childcare room and Matty showed up with his best man. It was pouring rain and hailing that morning and we had originally planned a sweet little ceremony on the beach, but that was out of the question! Instead, as the rain cleared, we opted for a first look at their favorite beach and where they had their first date — Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach. We frolicked and laughed and jumped around on literally the most beautiful day ever. Because it had rained that morning, no one was at the beach which is unheard of for a Saturday! Their ceremony was full of worship which was absolutely perfect as their relationship has centered on finding and experiencing faith. Their joy and freedom of heart was completely contagious and the entire day radiated peace. This sweet wedding and their photos filled with joy have brought me a sense of perspective that I’m holding tightly to as I write this. I’m currently sheltering-in-place as the Coronavirus looms over San Diego and a sense of foreboding charges the air. But when I look at these photos I’m filled with peace knowing that the most important things in life can’t be taken away from me. Love, joy, peace, faith. I love Steph and Matty so much as they love one another and point everyone around them to the things that matter. Thank you for trusting me with your day.
