Energetic and Fun Mount Laguna Forest Engagement

Imagine this.

You get engaged.

You’re so excited to start planning a wedding.

You look for a photographer and cannot find a single one that seems to match your style.

Enter: Me. I’m here for the goofy. The freakin weirdos. The adventurous. The down-to-get-dirty. Like literally, all three of us got poked in the butt by some sort of cactus or foxtail during this engagement photoshoot. As you scroll through this gallery you’ll see a lot of running, laughing, tongue touching (???LOL??) licking, as well as some uber romantic and raw captured emotions.

This engagement shoot is the perfect blend of candids and me saying “hey go stand on that rock and squeeze each other!” I love capturing what’s already happening but also giving a bit of direction if I see something that inspires me artistically! Steph and Matty are super adventurous and this photoshoot was SO MUCH FUN. We hiked for a while, Matty shotgunned a couple beers, and we had moments of incredible awe as we watched the sun set at Mount Laguna just outside of San Diego, California. I still can’t believe this gem is only forty five minutes away from my house! At the same elevation as Big Bear Mountain, Mount Laguna is closer, more easily accessible, and less populated than Big Bear or Lake Arrowhead! And bonus points: you don’t have to drive through LA! Steph and Matty were really hoping to take pictures in the snow and while there was no snow to be found in all of Southern California, we were able to find a small patch in a shaded area on our hike! I was so honored to be the photographer for both their Mount Laguna forest engagement and their Encinitas intimate beach wedding and I will forever look back on these photos as some of my favorite memories with some of my favorite people!
