Simple and Sweet Coronado Island Elopement
The perfect elopement starts with a skyline and ends with cheese.
Cathy and Jacob decided to elope in San Diego and I think they made the right choice. We didn’t have a ton of time for their vows and wedding portraits so I wanted to make sure we got a variety of photos for their gallery as well as a day that felt like an adventure! After some scouting ahead of time, I found the perfect little oceanfront park on Coronado Island. I decided to take them to Centennial Park — this tiny little park on the island. The best part about it is that it has KILLER views of San Diego. We were able to get amazing portraits of them with San Diego and the ocean behind them.
Then we headed over to the dune area on Coronado Beach by Hotel Del Coronado. We spent the evening listening to Stevie Nicks and exploring Coronado Island. We ended the night with champagne and cheese while we watched the sunset.
Cathy and Jacob also decided to add on a roll of 35mm film to their wedding photography package. My favorite thing about shooting film is that it’s timeless. Film photos have stood the test of time and continue to be heirlooms for my family that have been passed down. They have a substantial feel and quality. I love how they round out any gallery and add dimension!! Scroll to the very bottom of this gallery to see some of the film scans from our time on the beach. Just wait -- you’ll look at them and think they could have been taken yesterday or 50 years ago. I just love that about film. And there’s seriously nothing better than getting your printed photos back in the mail and being able to flip through them. Talk about the best throwback!
Here are those film photos I promised!
MAJOR NOSTALGIC VIBES, AMIRIGHT?!?! Just imagine flipping through these prints!! I wish I had a roll of film from my wedding but I’m so stoked I can offer this to my couples!!
