Chillest Emotional Surf Town Anniversary Session
My inspiration for this session was Encinitas in the 90s. I grew up coming here as a kid and I loved everything about the off-beat, funky, laid-back surf vibe. I wanted these photos to feel the chillest with a hint of joy and a splash of creativity. San Diego is already the best place for engagement photos, weddings, anniversary photoshoots, or just life documentation, but Encinitas & the tiny neighboring town of Solana Beach are the true gems of San Diego.
I brought along my medium format film camera for this session and the scans I got back from this film are some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. If you’re not familiar with medium format film, a typical 35mm roll of film is 36 frames which yields 36 images. A medium format camera typically has 8-16 frames, yielding that many photos. Then you send in your film to a developing company so they can process it in a darkroom & then they scan the film and send you digitals as well as the printed images. SO all that to say, medium format film is expensive and you really only take a few shots with it! For this session I took two frames.
Here they are:
And here is the rest of the session. I hope these photos add a little somethin to your day.
